The weather for tomorrow is from yesterday
Together with the startup 23Degree, we carried out the technical and graphical relaunch of the visualization platform of the Austrian Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics. Using information provided from approximately 250 weather stations located throughout Austria together with a special nowcast calculation method focused on the alpine regions, the platform enables the visualization of weather data. By means of a diverse array of product groups, various weather visualizations and POIs can be combined with each other. The portal serves both as the internal web solution of the Institute and as the basis of all of the client modules offered.
Designed to be fully responsive, unified and customizable, the front end has been expanded to include a dual navigation path - all of the available data is shown in one place or one data set shows information about all of the places, thus offering everything that is commonly provided by weather visualizations.

Now I can visualize and collect the sound of wood
The aim is to expand the audial perception of the sound of wood with a visualization. A translation of sound to image.
A xylophone serves as both interface and projection on which the interaction between the recipient and the installation takes place. "When a tone is created through the symbiosis of several frequencies and when the symbiosis of several design elements results in a visual composition, then the direct dependence of individual design elements on individual frequencies results in a composition in which a tonal landscape is interpreted visually."

Political Elections: Live and Visualized
The Austria Press Agency provides all of the data and data analyses of Austrian and international elections. Polls, forecasts, projections, and voter transition analyses are all streamed live. What was needed was a modular web solution that would also work for TV. Of course, it had to be fully responsive and the design could not include any colors associated with a political party.
A unified design system based on a reduced greyscale color code forms the base. The colors of the political parties determine the appearance of the modules. The navigation elements are all variable, as are the data visualizations. All of the modules can be used individually or together as a unit.

The 60th Anniversary of Eurovision – a retrospective of the past and a look ahead into the (at that time) upcoming show in 2016.
"An experience“ – "An unforgettable event“. These ideas were the foundation of the entire creative process. Portraits of past and current events are presented and these can be compared directly with the aid of data analysis. Analyses are provided of song texts and of voting outcomes, as are a variety of historical summaries; it is even possible to choose one's own personal favorite by selecting BPM, gender, language of song lyrics, and voice.

A comparison of numbers related to the refugee situation
Whenever the topic of the refugee crisis comes up in public debates, most people already feel threatened by the multiplicity of numbers.
"vis-à-vis“ aims to make it possible to compare these numbers visually in order to make it easier for people to grasp the relations and dimensions of the information. The following areas were distinguished: Europe, Austria, and your own municipality (exactly where you live). To complete the picture even further, we even tried to enter the natural habitat of the individual user and make comparisons related to daily life.

How long could you survive on the guaranteed minimum income?
Create a data game in the course of a 48-hour hackathon.
The Guaranteed Minimum Income Game – in Austria, 256,405 people receive a guaranteed minimum income. These individuals receive approximately 830€ monthly and 150€ for each child. According to the "try it yourself" principle, the user is given sample data and is led through several months in the life of someone who receives a guaranteed minimum income. The user gets money from social welfare and uses it to pay for his or her daily bread.

The colors of the animals
A direct comparison of the revenues and expenses of 2,100 Austrian municipalities
Following the enactment of the transparency law, the idea arose to create a digital municipal finance report with self-explanatory navigation and data visualization.
Where does the money come from? What is the money spent on? These basic questions led to the development of a digital web portal with a one page scrolling effect. All of the data visualizations can be filtered by year and represented as per capita or absolute values. A direct comparison of muncipalities is possible.

„I want my audience to sit down, listen and devote themselves to my music“
Not too smooth, not too rough, not too wild and not too elegant, not too black and not too colorful. The best thing would be to represent the music directly.
Every song is visualized by means of a program written especially for it. In terms of text, the sample pages only contain the title and the length of the song. Together with the cover page, they comprise the total booklet. By means of a red filter, everything that is not essential is filtered out, if the recipient desires.

Viral branding for an exclusive group
A group of professors at the Department of English needed to establish a visual identity for its language competence program.
A logo that resembles a stamp is used on already existing printed materials. All of the teaching materials and all of the course profiles in the system will be stamped in order to suggest a shared, mystical identity. There is no official explanation of the stamp logo except in the overview of courses in the web portal.

The Austria Press Agency delivers anything and everything related to soccer, winter sports, the Olympics, and Formula One, both nationally and internationally. I had the opportunity to relaunch the concept and the design of the APA Sports Visuals. Each sports category can be implemented individually or together as a Sport Center.
Over 300 different HTML modules, designed to be fully responsive and unified with a uniform color code, capable of being integrated into websites, mobile apps, screens or TV. Special functions such as comparisons of teams, athletes, or racing cars, racetrack overviews, live table visualizations, goals scored, various timelines or text tickers with the Olympic program or weather visualizations are the visual highlights.
